Valentines Day In Keswick

Whether this is your first Valentines together or you've been married for decades, Keswick and the surrounding area has lots of options for Valentines Day with a loved one.

Best romantic meals out

The award winning Bassenthwaite Lake Station is guranteed to be a great choice. The cafe is based in a lovingly restored train station and Orient Express train carriage and serves fantastic food from breakfasts to afternoon tea and everything in between. But remember to book in advance as this place sells out early.

Thyme Bistro is a family run resturant with a warm and friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on great fresh food, cooked with care.

If you'd like to get dressed up then head to Brasserie 31 at the Skiddaw Hotel. Recently awarded an AA Rosette for its culinary excellence, their newly-refurbished restaurant, ‘Brasserie 31’, offers a completely new dining experience, designed with indulgence in mind.

If you're tired from a morning on the fells or want to treat yourself and someone special to an afternoon tea for two, why not pop into Wild Strawberry Patisserie and Coffee Shop. They also serve fantastic artisan coffees, crepes and sanwiches, so you can relax in a cosy corner at any time of the day.

Cosy accommodation for two

What could be more romantic than a quiet getaway to the country. All accommodation on our website would be suitable for a romantic break as its based in such beautiful surroundings, however those featured are an extra good choice for a getaway for two.

What could be more romantic than a cosy cottage with a log fire and mountain views. We have a vast range of cottages of all sizes, both based in Keswick and in surrounding villages so there's something for all tastes.

There are a range of hotels, often in grand country houses in stunning grounds, and smaller family run guest houses.

If you'd like to try something different we have a range of glamping and camping pods, some with luxuries such as fire pits and hot tubs.

Valentines Day activities

While you're here there's no end of enjoyable activities to do together.

If you want to pop the question then here are some lovely walks 5 beautiful locations to propose in Keswick.

You could treat yourselves to a spa day.

Why not take a walk through woodland or remote valleys such as Borrowdale and Langstrath.

You could watch the sunset at Castlerigg Stone Circle, a prehistoric monument with stunning views.

Or if that doesn't appeal then there's nothing like fear to make you realise who's important to you - so why not share a scary experience on Honister’s Via Ferrata or Climb The Mine?

If that sounds too exciting then how about some shopping instead? And if you want something special, Fultons (who also specialise in bespoke jewellery) and Shipton & Co sell stunning jewellery.

And what would a Valentines weekend be like without a visit to the home of our famous romantic poet Wordsworth and his Dove Cottage at Wordsworth Grasmere
