Chaucer’s Retreat is a lower ground floor apartment in the expertly converted former Chaucer House Hotel, a local heritage building located directly opposite St John’s Church in the heart of Keswick. Sleeping two, it is a large apartment with its own private entrance and car parking space.

The apartment is accessed via its own private entrance at the back of Chaucer House. It has a hallway and cloak area and steps down into a spacious apartment with views of Latrigg and beyond from the lounge/diner window.

It is equipped to the highest standard. The fully fitted kitchen, has a dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and fan assisted oven and a variety of high quality kitchen utensils and crockery. There is also a utility area are with a washer dryer. Derwent Cottage is a contemporary town house within a quiet, residential courtyard a couple of minutes walk from the shopping area and within easy walking distance of Derwentwater, Theatre by the Lake and the fells beyond. The stylish, fresh interior and central location provide an excellent base for your holiday. It achieves Visit England 4 Star Gold Standard.

The front door leads into a bright hallway with coat hooks, a shoe storage area and stairs up to the bedrooms. The kitchen is light and airy and has a good range of well-equipped units , kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Appliances include a refrigerator/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, gas oven and hob, extractor hood and slow cooker.
