ONE & only, Glamping Pod, situated in the corner of the farmyard next to the garden & stream, with wonderful views of the lambing fields & hay meadows. The veranda is the perfect place to sit back and watch Farm life in a quieter corner of the Lake District.
The Glamping Pod sleeps x2 adults in a made-up double bed and x2 children (aged 3yrs to 12 yrs) in sleeping bags on a sofa bed. Shower en-suite with towels, mini kitchen with fridge for basic food prep, underfloor heating, wi-fi, smart TV.
Serval local country pubs, the closest only 2 miles away – an easy 30-minute road walk.
Fabolous dark sky for star gazing & if your really lucky, the Northern Lights.
Walk Wainwrights from the farm gate such as Carrock, High Pike, Calva & Back ‘O’ Skiddaw or Bowscale, Mungrisdale Common & Blencathra.
Bowscale Tarn is only a 40-minute walk, the perfect location for wild swimming and picnics and Lake Ullswater is a 20-minute picturesque drive. The tourist hotspot town of Keswick is only 14 miles away.

Location
Mosedale End Farm is 14 miles from Keswick and Penrith.
Due to our rural location & NO BUS ROUTE, we recommend you have your own TRANSPORT.
Please be careful as Sat Nav`s will take you to a holiday cottage around the corner.
Leave the M6 at J40 (Penrith) and take the A66 west to Keswick for approx 10 miles
Take the right turn for Mungrisdale and drive approx 4 miles on to Mosedale
(You will pass through Mungrisdale, passing the Mill Inn on your left)
Proceed through Mosedale village, sat nav`s will tell you to turn left for Swineside, THIS IS WRONG. Mosedale End Farm is the last house in the village on the left, hence our name Mosedale END Farm.
There is a green sign hanging from the telegraph pole.
Mosedale End Farm is a 17th Century white farmhouse and is set back off the road, behind its own private yard where you may park your car.

Badger Watching Experience from our own private wildlife Hide
Unique wildlife watching experience.
We have a cosy, dry Wildlife Hide which has a very comfortable sofa in it. The large window looks directly towards the Badger sett, about 50 meters from the Wildlife Hide in our private field.
We feed the Badgers peanuts just 4 meters in front of the hide which is lit with solar lights for an up close Experience. The nocturnal Badgers come out after dark to eat the peanuts left daily under plant pots & logs.
This supervised Experience can only take a max of 2 adults per night due to the size of the hide.
Sorry not suitable for young children or those with mobility problems or dogs.
Hide/wildlife watching etiquette of sitting patiently & quietly must be always adhered to at all times. The Badgers are sensitive to sound & will run away if they hear something strange to them. (phones must be on silent, no talking)
No food or drink, smoking or vaping as the Badgers have a great sense of smell & will not come if something smells foreign to them.
The Start time is based on what time the Badgers visited the Wildlife Hide the previous night.
Guests will need to be settled into the hide at least 30 minutes before we expect the Badgers to arrive to let your scent settle down.
Please wrap up in warm clothing (the hide is not heated) & wellies or outdoor boots for the 2-minute walk across our field to the Wildlife Hide.
The Badgers generally stay about 30 minutes if undisturbed.
You are welcome to take photos & videos but the FLASH MUST BE TURNED OFF, as this spooks the Badgers & they will run away.
We have a wildlife camera filming the setting 24 hours. You will be filmed arriving & departing the Wildlife Hide.
The price is £10 per person in cash.
