The Mount B&B

We are really proud to be one of the very few Sawdays B&B in the Lake District! (Sawdays specialises in high-end, quirky B&Bs with bags of personality and character!)

The Mount is a charming Edwardian home, full of soul. There are many delightful period features in the house, such as the warm and cosy fireplace in the guest lounge. It is a loved, historic house with modern luxuries, such as fantastic showers in the ensuites.

  • Guest lounge and pretty garden – relax and enjoy the books and magazines

Staying in Portinscale, Keswick

Portinscale is a delightful place for a Lake District holiday. The village is very close to Derwentwater (great for gentle lakeside walks and boating) and a short walk to Keswick, the centre of the beautiful Northern part of the Lake District. So it is easy to reach all the shops, cafes and theatre of Keswick, easy to get onto some good Lake District walks from Catbells to Barrow to Skiddaw – while enjoying the peace and charm of a Lakeland village – with some great cafes and pubs minutes away.

Wherever you look there are great views, Portinscale is a lovely spot for enjoying all the Lakes have to offer – walks, views, cycling, canoeing, cream-teas and good ales. Come and see!

Location

We are in the cente of Portinscale, just off the A66 from Keswick or Braithwaite. We are about half-way between the pub (The Farmers Arms) and the cafe (The Chalet).
