Pop and Prom in the Park

Keswick Town Council Events Committee is delighted to announce an all-day live music event will take place in Fitz Park from 1:00pm on Sunday 5th September.

This will be a combination of contemporary music from local artists concluding with the traditional ‘Last Night of the Proms’ we have become familiar with over the past several years as part of the Midsummer Festival. The afternoon begins with Anne-Marie Quinn-Lliles. Her set should include tracks from her new album Blue Sky Thinking, created in Malawi. Water’s Edge and The Royal Northern 6 (specially put together by Mike Huit) will take the audience through pop classics, and jazz to start the classical section with soprano Emily Robinson and the Burneside Brass Band. The faces and music in the classical section will be familiar to anyone who has been to previous Fitz Park Proms.

The event is free to attend and straw bales as seats will be available. The audience can bring their own seats if they prefer and flags will be welcome! Toilets are provided by the kind co-operation of Lakeland Trails, who have an event the day before.

Food and drink will be available all day, but this could be a good day for a picnic. Programmes and lyrics will be provided on the day plus many locations in town will have copies.
