Christmas Brie Tree Takes Favourite Window Top Spot

Throughout December and into the New Year, Keswick Tourism Association ran its Christmas Window Walking Trail and in the vote for favourite window, Keswick Cheese Deli took first place.

The window trail, made up of 12 businesses, gave residents and visitors to the town the opportunity to enjoy a festive outdoor activity and to explore different parts of the town and its businesses. People were able to vote for their favourite window and with almost 50% of the votes, the beautiful display at Keswick Cheese Deli which included a Christmas Brie Tree was the clear winner.

Hayley Peacock, Keswick Cheese Deli owner said “Everyone in the deli is absolutely over the moon. We created our wibbly wobbly tree of brie using our empty brie boxes and recycled decorations. Thank you so much to everyone that voted for our Christmas window display.”

Organising the trail had its challenges as Vanessa Metcalfe, Keswick Tourism Association’s Tourism Manager explained “We originally had 14 businesses taking part, but a couple had to drop out last minute meaning that the map needed to be amended. Also, window number 1 couldn’t be seen for the first couple of weeks of the trail because of the scaffolding on the Moot Hall but we got there in the end. We are always very grateful to all the businesses who take part. It’s a fantastic way to encourage people to explore all areas of the town and perhaps visit businesses they haven’t been to before”
