Award-winning Artist Opens New Flagship Gallery In Beautiful Keswick

The UK’s bestselling published artist, Lucy Pittaway, is set to welcome visitors to her new Keswick gallery in the heart of the Lake District.

Lucy Pittaway claims a much-loved place in the UK art market, thanks to her distinct style and talent for turning the everyday into vibrant, imaginative art works.

To celebrate the opening of the new gallery at 79 Main Street, Keswick, on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November everyone is invited to get their Pittaway pictures signed with personalised messages.

Guests can indulge in festive treats, including mince pies and prosecco, and see the recently released Christmas image. As well as original art works and prints, the gallery is brimming with colourful and uplifting ceramics, homewares, and gifts- perfect for Christmas.

Taking residence in Cumbria is a heart-felt move by the artist, as it is where Lucy’s mother and grandmother grew up.

Lucy said: “The Lake District holds a very special place in my heart. I have many memories from my childhood, that I am now sharing with my own children. The humbling mountains, ever-changing weather and magnificent views inspire me and undoubtably influence my artwork.

“Opening this gallery is a personal journey back to the Lakes. It is also a celebration of the local landscape that is so special to so many people.”

Whilst the Lake District has forever featured in Lucy’s artwork, 2021 inspired the Staycation collection which colourfully captures the adventure and escapism to be found closer to home. The collection includes Lucy’s iconic sheep looking over beautiful Derwentwater, and friendly figures enjoying a cosy caravan in front of a mountainous backdrop.

Lucy said: “This will be the first signing event in two years, due to the pandemic. I really can’t wait to welcome people to the space, and I am so excited that my work will now have a permanent home in Keswick.”

The gallery has opened new job opportunities, as four new gallery assistants have joined the team in time for a busy Christmas.

The gallery is open Saturday 9.30am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 5pm.
