Badgers Wood guest house is situated in a quiet residential cul-de-sac and has off street private parking for 6 cars - one car space available for every room.

Providing quality accommodation only a two minute walk from Keswick market square with its shops and restaurants, bus station and public parks Badgers Wood is one of only four Keswick guest houses to hold the AA ‘highly commended’ award. This rating reflects the high standard of accommodation and personal service we provide following our full refurbishment and it also places us into the top 10% of AA rated guest houses across the UK.

Our six en-suite bedrooms (three double, one twin and two single) have flat screen colour TV, clock radio alarm, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, individual room controlled central heating and views towards the fells. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

You can enjoy a freshly cooked full English breakfast or other lighter breakfast options and we gladly cater for vegetarians, coeliac and dairy free diets. We use free range eggs, locally or regionally sourced fresh produce and are supporters of 'Fairtrade'.

We have maps and guide books for you to use and are happy to share our 20 years walking experience on the fells with both experienced walkers and those looking to take to the hills for the first time.

Location

From Penrith:- At junction 40 of the M6, travel west along the A66 until you reach the second roundabout (approx 17 miles/27km). Ignore any signs for Keswick before this. Turn left and follow the road to a T junction and turn left again. After 400 metres go straight over the mini roundabout and Stanger Street is then 25 metres on the left. We are the last guest house on the right hand side of the street.

From Windermere:- upon entering Keswick keep on the A591 downhill and through the town. You will pass a BP petrol station on your left, the fire station and then 500 metres on the road bends round to the left and then sharp right at a pedestrian crossing. After the pedestrian crossing Stanger Street is the first street on your right but if you get to the mini-roundabout you have gone too far. Once into Stanger Street, Badgers Wood guest house is on the right hand side of the road towards to top of the street.

By rail:- The nearest main line station is Penrith where you pick up a bus connection for Keswick just outside the station entrance. Badgers Wood is just a 3 minute walk from Keswick bus station and we are happy to collect you from the bus station and also return you at the end of your stay.
