Leading Lake District hotel group reward employees with exciting range of new staff benefits

Lake District Hotels, a leading family-owned hotel group based in the northern Lake District, are going above and beyond for their company employees after giving their existing staff benefits an overhaul to unveil a whole range of exciting new employee advantages.

The new employee benefits include a revision of staff wages which exceed the national minimum wage for all workers, generous discounts of up to 50% off hotel room rates and meals across all 6 hotels within the group, a fully supportive wellbeing programme with access to a one-to-one counselling service, a noteworthy holiday allowance that increases with length of service (employees have the potential to earn an extra week’s holiday) plus much more.

The group also boasts a range of inspiring training and development opportunities to help further advance staff careers within the hospitality industry. Hands-on training is not only provided within the professional hotel environments, but group employees also have access to comprehensive training via FLOW, an interactive online training portal, and are able to enrol onto a variety of hospitality-based training programmes at Kendal College.

“Our employees are integral to everything we do at Lake District Hotels; from offering a first-class level of service to implementing our company values on a day-to-day basis, so it seems only appropriate to say thank you with a selection of generous staff benefits which we are thrilled to officially announce.” said Dani Hope, Director of Lake District Hotels.

In addition to having access to discounts and wellbeing support, employees of Lake District Hotels are also recognised and celebrated for their hard-work which is demonstrated through an Annual Employee Appreciation Awards Ceremony.

The hotel group hosted its first Employee Appreciation Awards Ceremony back in November 2021 to celebrate career milestones of the group’s longest standing staff members, however company Directors Kit & Charles Graves and Dani Hope have opted to hold the ceremony annually to recognise the hard-work of employees on a more regular basis.

“I am pleased to say that we are finding many new employees are choosing to come and work for us due to our exciting range of new employee benefits” Maria Boyd, HR Manager at Lake District Hotels told us “I work closely with a range of staff across the group and the new benefits have been welcomed with much excitement by both employers and employees.”

The leading Lake District Hotel group also offer live-in accommodation available to their hotel staff which includes three meals a day prepared by the hotel chefs plus WIFI and laundry facilities. Staff accommodation is currently occupied by approximately 240 employees across the group.

Additional benefits include a ‘Refer a Friend scheme’ where staff can earn a £500 bonus when they refer a friend to join the company, discounts on local Lake District attractions, a monthly prize draw to win one of three £50 Lake District Hotels vouchers plus the opportunity to win a Quarterly Outstanding Employee Award for each hotel as voted for by colleagues.

Hotels within the group include the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa and Borrowdale Hotel located in the Borrowdale Valley; the Inn on the Square, Skiddaw Hotel and Kings Arms Hotel situated in Keswick and the Inn on the Lake which sits on the shores of Ullswater.
