Give The Gift Of Theatre This Christmas

Theatre by the Lake is giving the gift of theatre this Christmas by helping families facing hardship to create magical memories. And they need your help...

Liz Stevenson, TBTL Artistic Director said "Christmas is all about making memories as a family, ones that will be cherished for a lifetime. We're hoping to make this happen with support from our great community here in Cumbria"

This year, with the increased pressure of the cost of living against a backdrop of the challenges post-Covid, many families will find themselves struggling to pay for the basics and understandably, tickets to the theatre will be out of reach for some. But for many people, their first and enduring memory of watching theatre comes from attending an annual Christmas production. With all of its magic and intrigue, memories are created that will spark a relationship with theatre that will last a lifetime.

Theatre by the Lake are working with Cumbria County Council’s Public Health team in Allerdale to identify those families that will most benefit from this gift. Supported by the Rotary Club of Cockermouth and GDF they are fundraising to provide free tickets and transport to families this Christmas so they can come and enjoy The Borrowers.

Theatre by the Lake are providing tickets for this appeal for just £10 each, so a donation of £40 would provide a family of four with a magical experience this Christmas. Theatre by the Lake have already received donations from over 100 generous donors, raising £4,500 that has already been allocated and the first recipients are coming to see The Borrowers this week, just in time for Christmas.

Please help Theatre by the Lake reach their target of providing 200 free tickets by making a donation using the box below. - this has now expired
