A gorgeous little Shepherd's Hut for one.

The Shepherd's Hut combines the peace and tranquillity of staying in a cute little Shepherd's Hut in our pretty cottage garden, with the comfort and convenience of staying in a B&B: the best of both worlds.

You will have a comfy, single bed, a desk with a lovely garden view, loo, cold-water sink, kettle and complimentary teas and coffees, and wood burning stove in your little hut, and a nice modern shower-room with gorgeous toiletries in the main house.

In the mornings you can join our other B&B guests for a delicious aga-cooked breakfast in the dining room (or the garden on those balmy Cumbrian summer days) and choose from a selection of hearty breakfasts - including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, as well as fresh fruits, cereals and locally-made yoghurt.

You are welcome to use the lounge in the main house, to plan your walks with our maps and books or watch telly. Both the main house and hut usually have good wifi.

One large dog and up to two small dogs are most welcome (with an additional charge).

Any questions prior to booking, please get in touch.

Staying in Portinscale, Keswick

Portinscale is the perfect spot for a Lake District holiday. The village is very close to Derwentwater (great for gentle lakeside walks and boating), a short walk to Keswick, the centre of the beautiful Northern part of the Lake District and close to many of the big mountains.

So it is easy to reach all the shops, cafes and theatre of Keswick, easy to get onto some good Lake District walks from Catbells to Barrow to Skiddaw – while enjoying the peace and charm of a Lakeland village – with some great cafes and pubs minutes away.

Wherever you look there are great views, Portinscale is a lovely spot for enjoying all the Lakes have to offer – walks, views, cycling, paddleboarding, cream-teas and good ales. Come and see!

Location

We are in the cente of Portinscale, just off the A66 from Keswick or Braithwaite. We are about half-way between the pub (The Farmers Arms) and the cafe (The Chalet).
Any problems please call Clive on 07811654392 for directions
