A must for every Keswick lover; get the Keswick School 2019 Calendar

Throughout the summer of 2018, students from Keswick School got snapping to capture the best bits of Keswick and the surrounding area, as part of a calendar competition hosted by Lake District Hotels. The idea of the competition was to get students out and about using their creative eye, taking pictures of what Keswick means to them, with the best 12 images featuring in Keswick’s 2019 charity calendar!

David Scott, aged 16 was named the competition winner by award winning landscape photographer Mark Littlejohn, his image now takes pride of place on the front cover of the calendar, as well as the month of April. Taken from Walla Crag, looking down on Derwentwater, David commented, “I was looking for inspiration when this calf came straight up to me, it was like he was posing for the camera. You could say that this fella wasn’t much of a Cow-herd!”

The winners all received a free calendar and a voucher for two 9” pizzas and two soft drinks at LB’s Pizza House in Keswick, on top of this David received a £50 iTunes voucher for his winning picture. The calendar features images of Keswick’s boat landings, the beautiful gardens of Hope Park, Buttermere and of course Derwentwater, and much more.

Dani Hope, Marketing Director of Lake District Hotels commented, “At Lake District Hotels, we were all very impressed with the quality of the images that we received, they produced a lovely calendar, a perfect Christmas present for anyone that loves Keswick and the Lake District.”

The calendars cost £4.95, with all profits going to Keswick School to improve their food technology kitchen, making it more effective and more engaging for the children, with the aim to encourage more students to take up careers within the hospitality industry.
