2018 Runner Up Is Voted 2019 Favourite Keswick Live Advent Window
Keswick Tourism Association has announced the winner of this year’s Keswick Live Advent window competition as Alexandra’s of Keswick who are based in Packhorse Court. 2018 saw then taking second place behind George Fisher but their 2019 advent window made from recycled material has taken the top spot with 28% of the votes.
Voting for the favourite Live Advent Window opened on Christmas Eve once the final window at Keswick Alhambra had been lit and ran until midnight on 5th January. The second placed window was Keswick Methodist Church and there was a three-way tie for third place between previous winners West Cumbria Rivers Trust, Keswick Tourist Information Centre and new to Keswick Live Advent in 2019, Keswick Mini Market.
Vanessa Metcalfe (Tourism Manager, Keswick Tourism Association) presented the winner’s trophy to Alexandra Boardman, owner of Alexandra’s of Keswick, earlier this week.
Alexandra commented “We were delighted to win the 2019 Keswick Live Advent Window. This year we designed the window using recycled fabrics and as such it was totally plastic-free and so fitted in well not only with Sustainable Keswick values but also our shop values where we constantly strive and campaign for increased sustainability in the fashion industry.”
Vanessa added “It was another fantastic year for Keswick Live Advent. It just seems to keep getting better and better. It is especially nice to see local businesses and other local organisations working together. We had some fantastic events and window displays this year and the Live Advent Window Trail proved incredibly popular. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and congratulations to Alexandra’s of Keswick. We are already looking forward to what Live Advent 2020 will bring”
