Short walks from Keswick
A short walk from Keswick town centre through the beautiful gardens of Hope Park and past the boat landings on Derwentwater to the beautiful viewpoint over the lake at Friars Crag. It is well worth visiting as the view over Derwentwater to the jaws of Borrowdale is amazing.
Castlehead is a low wooded hill close to Keswick town centre only 162m high with splendid views for minimum effort. It is a great way to get your bearings and is an excellent introduction to the town and its situation.
This low level walk takes you via field paths to the villages of Applethwaite and Millbeck just outside Keswick and back along the terrace road linking the two villages. There are superb views for most of the route of the surrounding fells.
A short walk from Keswick tothe stone circle setting out along the old railway path and returning via Springs Wood.
