Join us for the premiere of the inspirational new Patagonia made film Blue Heart and help save the Blue Heart of Europe.
The Balkan region—richly diverse in cultures, languages and history—is home to the last wild rivers on the European continent. The region truly is the Blue Heart of Europe.
.
More than 3,000 hydropower dams and diversions are either proposed or in the process of being built in the Balkans and will cause irreversible damage to rivers, wildlife and local communities.
Blue Heart documents the battle for the largest undammed river in Europe – Albania’s Vjosa – the efforts to save the Balkan lynx in Macedonia, and the women of Kruscicia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are spearheading a months-long, 24/7 protest to protect their community’s only source of fresh water.
Patagonia staff will welcome you on arrival, and before the film we will have a short introduction from Victoria Kimber of Keswick’s George Fisher’s, talking about the Blue Heart project.
