On the C2C Cycle route 200 yds north of Greystoke village green, direction Blencowe. We welcome all cyclists and walkers and ask all those with cars to walk the 350yds from the village car park around the Greystoke Castle walls. We can offer parking in our driveway to cycle support vehicles and those attending our workshop days, Bus links to Penrith and Keswick. Penrith railway station 5 miles
Based in the coppiced woodlands of South Cumbria, Lorna is a graduate of the Bill Hogarth Memorial Apprenticeship Trust and a member of Coppice Association North West and the Basketry Association.
Day One will include a lot of bushcraft - cyntells, gypsy craft, geography,.material selection, dressing with a knife (technique applicable to much split wood basketry and
skeined work), riving, stripping, dressing and soaking for the following day.
Day Two starts with preparing the main frame spelks and taws, weaving & creating your own beauitiful Hazel basket. Learning about history and adaptations.
