Discovering 'Appliqué & Stitch' Freehand Machine Embroidery with Sarah Ames
Freehand machine embroidery is among the favourite of techniques in the crafting world, it's easy, quick, effective and produces a great range of results. Your day with Sarah will teach you all the basic skills you need to use freehand machining on a variety of projects.
Sarah will come with a host of ideas for you as well as some templates you can use if you feel unsure about your design. Please bring along any reference materials that inspire you, such a books or magazine pictures that can be traced etc
Please can you bring your own working sewing machine with feed dogs that can be dropped. Please ensure your machine is in good working order and that you are familiar with how to thread the machine/ have the instruction booklet. We do have a couple of spare machines available- – please ask when you book)
Also bring a selection of threads and fabric scraps. Some sketch paper and pencils (nothing fancy - just for planning) Picture/photo for inspiration/ reference or a starting point. I will bring extra fabric scraps and base fabrics etc.
