The Charcoal Hare' with Sarah Stokes

We are delighted to welcome back much acclaimed, professional wildlife artist Sarah Stokes, joining us for a fascinating long weekend in October 2026 of charcoal study and painting.

Sarah's visit will begin on Friday 9th with a day course focussed on drawing this beautiful Hare portrait in Charcoal.

(Sarah will be teaching the same weekend .. 'Girls Night In' 2 day Watercolours - 7th/8th Nov 2026  - bookable separately)

In the morning you will get to explore the importance of tone, as we draw a full face depiction of the Hare,  capturing its wary gaze as it looks straight at the artist. We will use charcoal, concentrating on creating convincing fur, eyes and expression.

After a tasty home made lunch - hopefully in the garden - we will finish this characterful heathland friend creating a beauitful finished piece with detail and poise.
