Speaker: Ashia Cannon

From humble beginnings in the Langdales to international success in America and beyond, Ruskin lace is a craft with an amazing history rooted in the Lakes.

Join us at Keswick Museum to learn from local embroiderer Ashia Cannon about what Ruskin lace is, the amazing women who pioneered it and its impact on their lives, and what happened to the craft once the Arts and Crafts Movement came to an end.

Lunchtime Talks

Lunchtime Talks are a seasonal lecture series hosted by Keswick Museum in partnership with local organisations and individuals – anyone with an interesting story, history or local issue to share is welcome!
