A musical performance from the cellist, Rebekah Clarke, taking young listeners on a journey to explore the beauty of the natural world around us. Explore classic poetry including the words of William Wordsworth and Lewis Carroll, interspersed with pieces of solo cello music including J.S. Bach and Gaspar Cassado, all stitched together by an interactive narrative. An exciting programme of music and poetry awaits, themed around taking a walk in nature, where the mystery of the woods inspires some imaginative creatures to arise!
Led by Rebekah Clarke, who is a professional cellist and educator based in North Wales. Rebekah has experience in leading workshops through her education work at Stockport Music Service, and string-teaching workshops across Greater Manchester, organising opportunities for young people to experience music, performance and exploring their own creativity. As a cellist Rebekah has most recently worked for the BBC NOW education department composition scheme, in regular performances with the Ardentia Trio, alongside features with City-of-Stoke Symphony Orchestra, and NEW Sinfonia.
Age guidelines: Approximately 6-12 years-old.
Under 6s welcome too. Art supplies are provided, and movement is welcome. This is a relaxed concert designed for all to enjoy in their own way.
