Keswick’s, North Lakes Brass band return to entertain us with a varied programme of quality music. There will be well-known marches, popular music and classics, with quality soloists performing; all compered by their charismatic conductor Gareth Sykes. Prior to the main concert there will be a short session by Keswick Training Band, 'KickBrass' for young musicians conducted by music teacher and band member Kaytie Harding of Threlkeld. Tickets £12 (£6 under 18).
Created in 2021 as a competition band, North Lakes Brass has enjoyed great success. Formed of experienced musicians wishing to enjoy the challenges of performing in contests and high quality concerts, the band has quickly made a name for itself. It has attracted some great players many of whom have performed at the highest level.
In a short time, North lakes Brass have enjoyed success in the North of England Championships, entertainment contests in England and Scotland. At the National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain, they were described as, “…delivering performances of note that captured both the lyrical and up-beat nature of the music."
North Lakes Brass do not play many concerts so when they do, they pack them full of excitement and entertainment. We are delighted to welcome them back for an evening of top quality music.
We will also be featuring a short session prior to the main concert by a group young musicians of Keswick Training Brass Band, ‘KickBrass’ conducted by music teacher and member of the main band Kaytie Harding. They will be playing a selection of movie themes – ScoobyDoo, Colonel Bogey and Game of Thrones, plus joining the main band in their open number, Prismatic Light.
