From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.

If you like running in circles, and up and down hills, you're in luck!

The Whopper is a 6hr or 12hr looped trail race set within Whinlatter forest.

Each loop is approximately 4.16 miles long (replicating the distance of a Backyard Ultra). You can run continuously, to clock up as many miles as you can, or complete 1 loop every hour to practice the Backyard Ultra format.

The route is rather undulating, but should you complete a loop on the hour for 12 hrs, you'll cover 50 miles and 12000ft + of elevation. Not to be sniffed at! You are of course welcome to come along and treat the day as training, set a new distance PB, or just come for the fun!

The course will be fully marked and marshalled, and there will be snacks and drinks included at race HQ.
