Unleash your expression with acrylic paint in this workshop designed to expand painted mark-making skills.

Working directly from still life, discover different painting techniques, mark making with brushes and other tools, colour-mixing, painting mediums and layering processes to boost your confidence in painting with acrylics.

Catherine MacDiarmid has exhibited widely including in the BP Portrait Award and was a semi -finalist in the Sky Portrait Artists of the Year in 2019. Catherine has 26 years’ experience teaching art courses.

Please bring with you:

*Basic range of acrylic paints
*Range of brushes, including large flat brushes at least 1 inch (household brushes are fine)
*Small sponge
*Rags for wiping brushes
*A couple of large plates or trays to use as palettes and for mixing paint on.
Some grease proof paper.
*Plastic/glass pots for water
*Water spray bottle
*Pastels (optional)
* Acrylic painting medium (optional as tutor will bring some)
*At least 3 large A2 or bigger) sheets of paper. These should be primed with acrylic primer prior to painting on as it saves precious acrylic paint
*Overalls
