Direction

From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.

Join our experienced, knowledgeable Ranger as they lead you around our amazing WOW Trail!

The Wow trail is a 4.5-mile walking trail showcasing the wonders of Whinlatter, England's only true mountain forest.

Be prepared to enjoy fantastic views, stunning surroundings plus wildlife spotting in our new woodland wildlife hide - what will you see?

You'll also take time to pause, reflect, and reset in our new wellbeing area, a beacon of peace deep within the forest before discovering one of the best views in the Lake District at our new viewpoint!

The guided walks start at 10.30am and last approximately three hours. All the walks have a different theme and you'll find out lots of interesting facts about the forest. If you’d like to join us, make sure to book you place with our friendly team in the Visitor Centre. Spaces are limited.
