Travelling from Penrith on A66, follow signs for town centre. Turn right after war memorial on to Station Road.
A chance to meet the artist behind our latest Community Gallery exhibition ‘Drawing on Cumbria’ and practice watercolour landscape painting skills in Fitz Park.
Sunday 23rd July 13.30-16.00 and Sunday 30th July 13.30-16.00
The session will include an introduction to David Boyd’s current exhibition at the museum ‘Drawing on Cumbria’, followed by a demonstration of David’s process of painting ‘en plein air’ – in the outdoors and embracing the Cumbrian elements. Participants will then have a chance to try out their skills to paint their own landscapes alongside David in Fitz Park next to the museum. Paints, paper and brushes will be supplied on the day and participants will receive a set of watercolour paints to take away and inspire future work.
Location: The session will be held outdoors in Fitz Park so participants should come prepared for all weathers (raincoats, umbrellas, suncream etc). If the weather is deemed too extreme or unsafe the workshop will be moved under shelter of the museum or indoors. As a result, some amendments may be made to the workshop format.
Age: Adults/12+
Equipment: Paints, paper and brushes will be provided.
