On the C2C Cycle route 200 yds north of Greystoke village green, direction Blencowe. We welcome all cyclists and walkers and ask all those with cars to walk the 350yds from the village car park around the Greystoke Castle walls. We can offer parking in our driveway to cycle support vehicles and those attending our workshop days, Bus links to Penrith and Keswick. Penrith railway station 5 miles
Marion arrives with spinning wheels & drop spindles for everyone. She will take students through every process involved in preparing wool - from the fleece - to carding, cleaning, preparing the fibres to different ways to spin. By the end of the day you will leave with 2 skeins of wool made by 2 different processes working on a wheel supplied by Marion - a lovely woolly day. Marion Woolcott is an experienced spinner, weaver, dyer, knitter and crocheter as well as being a tutor and designer. She has taught many individuals and groups different aspects of spinning, specialising in producing exciting fancy yarns. Marion is also a founder member of The Wool Clip co-operative, where she sells her fine silk and merino woven scarves, yarns and clothing. Marion designs and sells patterns and kits inspired by her hand dyed yarns.
