From M6 jct 40 and follow A66 towards Keswick, follow brown signs to Theatre and Lakeside. On foot the theatre is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Keswick.
Aimed at children age 6+ and their families, Fettle & Fable Theatre Company’s fast-paced, uplifting performance follows Jenna’s search for the swallow that usually nests outside her bedroom window in summer… but one spring her swallow doesn’t arrive!
With the help of Nolwazi, a South African librarian, Jenna goes on a journey of discovery, following the swallow’s migration through grasslands, mountains, cities, rainforests, rivers, seas and even as far as the moon, finding out what the swallow means to people in Africa and Europe.
Inkonjane incorporates myths, stories and folklore told through puppetry, shadows, storytelling, music and song, Inkonjane invites children to interact and become part of the story.
Made in collaboration with South African artists including renowned musician Eugene Skeef and featuring the voice of Zanele Ndlovu as Nolwazi. Performance fees help to support the ongoing work and development of the Novulakuvaliwe Library based in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
