Saturday 21 May, 7.30pm in the beautiful setting of St John's Church, Keswick, the Wordsworth Singers, with the Adderbury Ensemble present My Fond Heart, a special concert for 'Wordsworth 250'.
The centrepiece of the concert will be the world première of a new work, Thread About My Heart by Keswick born composer Phillip Cooke, specially commissioned to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Wordsworth, with texts by William and his sister Dorothy, set for chorus, solo soprano, strings and harp.
The concert will also include music by English composers Elgar and Parry, along with a seldom performed work by the American Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
