A fascinating day with Marian learning how to create your own Botanical contact prints with real leaves on fabric and paper, printing your own unique silk scarf and paper prints.

Join Marian for a day of botanical discovery and create a beautiful printed silk scarf using fresh leaves, flowers and natural dyes. You will learn all about the printing process involved, how to prepare fabrics for dyeing with vegetables and flowers and how to choose the leaves that will give good prints. And you will prepare some paper prints which you can finish at home.

In this workshop, which is suitable for all abilities, the freshly collected leaves will be wrapped in pure silk, cotton and paper before being steamed to release their natural dyes and tannins in an eco friendly process. Marian will lead you step by step from the preparation of the fabric, the choosing and placement of suitable leaves through to the techniques needed to produce clear and lasting natural leaf prints.
