Threlkeld is located off the A66 in Cumbria, 4 miles west of Keswick and 13 miles east of Penrith. From Penrith, junction 40 on the M6, follow signs to Keswick and after 13 miles turn right into Threlkeld Village. Do not follow your Sat Nav after this point - the Village Hall is located 0.5 mile along on the left hand side. From Keswick follow signs to Penrith and after 4 miles take the first left signposted Threlkeld. The Village Hall is 0.5 mile along on the right hand side.

Our much-loved local folk group Stooshie have been selected as the opening event following the enforced COVID-19 break! The band members, Simon O’Hare, Dave Muir, Rachel Swift, Pete Leeson, are all local, and Stooshie is fast gaining a reputation in Cumbria and beyond.  The group describe their music as rooted in folk but with a modern twist. Two main instrumental line-ups allow them to mix up traditional songs and beautiful ballads, to sit alongside the fast and furious stonkers that have the audience up on their feet.

Stooshie have played at nearly all the major festivals in the area (including Kendal Calling, Solfest, Sedbergh and Keswick Mountain Festival), as well as venues such as The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, The Stage in Gateshead, Clitheroe’s The Grand as well as Keswick’s own Theatre by the Lake.

The band play their own material as well as arrangements of other group’s numbers. Influences include The Peatbog Faeries, The Urban Folk Quartet as well as Altan and the wonderful Michael McGoldrick.
