Trailer Story: Purple Pass (Sat PM)

Sat 7 August | 2pm - 4:30pm

Trailer Story is a festival of spoken word, theatre and comedy brought to you on a touring truck.

Enjoy a weekend-long programme of outdoor events celebrating our nation’s diversity, resilience and community with performances and workshops in a stunning location.

With support from National Trust.

We bring you a matinee of a hilarious take on Twelfth Night and a rock of pages opera!

I, Malvolio

Written & Performed by Tim Crouch

2pm – 3.10pm

I, Malvolio re-imagines Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night from the point of view of its most notoriously abused steward.  It’s a charged, hilarious and sometimes unsettling rant from a man adrift in front of a cruel audience. Part abject clown, part theatre-hating disciplinarian, Malvolio asks his audience to explore the pleasure we take in other people’s suffering.

Support your Local Library: The Rock Opera!

by Black Liver | Keith Carter & Ruth Cockburn

3:30pm – 4:30pm

The arrival of the new librarian to the nouveau riche town of Little Hope shakes up the lives of its high society. Alarmed that the rejuvenated library is starting to have an influence on their children, they plot the downfall of the librarian and the library.

Black Liver, musical comedy duo, invites you on a journey along the shelves of your local library. Discover twisted histories, fantastic stories and why it’s more vital to us now as it’s ever been, as Keith and Ruth sing you through this satirical tale of the North West’s nouveau riche and the public libraries relevant past; the battle between knowledge versus image.

Be prepared for an all singing laugh out loud spectacular!

Some content may be unsuitable for under 12s.
