James wood is an experimental wild food forager who’s amazed with the abundance of wild and edible foods lying all around us, within our grasp, all of the time. Not only are these ingredients edible – they’re delicious, packed full with nutrients, fresh, seasonal and better than organic – they’re wild. Some taste like mustard, others like lemons, pineapple and even sherbert. James is the creator of ‘The Foraged Book Project’ – a wild food guide made entirely from wild materials, mushroom paper, oak gall ink, nettle thread, seaweed glues and goose feather quills. He has been leading deeply engaging foraging walks for over 5 years, and his courses are designed in a way that allows you to get the most out of your time in the wilds. From learning the basics of correctly identifying a whole range of different plants, to tasting a vast range of pre-made preserves from chutneys through to cordials, syrups, fruit leathers, salt ferments, alcohol infusions and what ever else might be found sitting in his foragers rucksack. He will show you what to eat, where to find it, how to safely identify it and what you can cook with it.
