Details

Threlkeld Activities Association invite you to celebrate Christmas at our Christmas Ceilidh with local band Mazurka playing. Mazurka play an eclectic folk mix, including a large variety of British folk and further afield to French, Eastern European and Klezmer music. The instruments played include mandola, button accordion, concertina, fiddle, hurdygurdy, mandolin, bouzouki and guitars by the band members: Jon Trotman, Martin Sleath and Dom Clarke and Steve Strachan. It promises to be an evening of interesting and entertaining music, even without the dancing! The ceilidh dances range from the simple and easy single partner couple dances to more complicated group dances with fun as always the main aim. No experience will be necessary as there will be a caller. Mulled wine and mince pies will contribute to the Christmas party atmosphere. The Christmas Ceilidh is at Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday 8th December 2017 starting at 8pm. Doors and bar open from 7:15pm. Tickets £10 (£5 under 18s) from the Village PO, Coffee Shop or on-line at www.threlkeldvillagehall.org/whats-on (where you can buy with credit and debit cards or by Paypal). Box Office enquiries phone 07733 790308.
