Organizer: Wordsworth House and Garden
Name: Wordsworth House
What will your family get up to this half-term? At Wordsworth House and Garden, we’ll be baking clapbread, making wild art, decorating rocks, counting sheep in Cumbrian, dressing up and writing with quills and ink. Why not join us?
At weekends, think outside the Xbox and try your hand at some pastimes from the past, including indoor and outdoor games William and his sister Dorothy would have enjoyed.
On Monday, become a rock artist. Follow in the footsteps of the land’s earliest inhabitants and decorate a pebble to tell a personal story.
Tuesday is the day to roll up your sleeves in the kitchen and have a go at making traditional Cumbrian clapbread.
On Wednesday, become a natural artist. Let nature awaken your creativity and make a piece of wild art from found objects or compose a poem out of stones.
On Thursday – and on Friday 25 October, when we’re also open – get cosy by the kitchen fire at 11.30am or 2.30pm, as the maids tell some spooky stories William and Dorothy might have enjoyed.
