Spend a creative and fascinating two days learning the art of Calligraphy with Gaynor Goffe.
A two day course including the currently extremely popular 'Modern' calligraphy script, which is written with a pointed pen, and is a hybrid between copperplate and italic handwriting. It is particularly useful - and indeed quite beautiful - for invitations, place cards, greetings cards etc. as well as other special uses.
This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience who wish to work on further projects or learn a new script.
Your own dip pen, a nib & ink reservoir is included in the course fee to take home at the end of the course, along with your practice sheets, tags and all you have produced, as well as a lovely 2 course Aga lunch & all refreshments and a cream tea.
Gaynor Goffe is one of the UK's foremost calligraphers and teachers in the country; she has produced many Calligraphy books, and is able to turn her hand to any style of lettering including her own beautiful typeface (Hamada) as well as the currently very popular modern scripts. Gaynor can teach whichever style you choose to learn on an individual level (she can switch from one style to another between students) be it uncial, roman, gothic, black letter or any of the more formal scripts, as well as the popular 'modern' pointed pen calligraphy, which is freer, less defined, with plenty of flourish and curls. Gaynor will bring beginner's dip pens, ink for you to try and use if you have no equipment and plenty of ideas of scripts to choose from along with the appropriate nib choices. You can then ensure you have the correct pen nib for the script you choose.
An amount of specialist paper is included as well as a dip pen and nib to take home, as well as dip pen, nib and resevoir.
