The Old Manse Barn

This listed Barn, attached to the left of the main house and built in 1602, is situated in the village but in an open situation with garden and mountains all around. It has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, microwave, washing machine and tumble drier. Although modernised, it retains an attractive old-world cottage atmosphere with oak beams, slate flags, stone wall and some high quality antique furniture. We personally manage it and the price includes heating, electricity and bed-linen.

One can walk onto the fells, have gentle local walks  and also go mountain-biking straight from the cottage. We are on the main Workington-Keswick-Penrith bus route.   The Keswick Golf club is nearby

Location

Find the church in Threlkeld village. Go down the track (which has a “footpath” fingerboard at the start ) alongside the churchyard. The Barn is behind the church.
