Stair Mill

Stair Mill is set in 2 acres in the beautiful Newlands Valley, overlooking Catbells and Causey Pike, yet only 4 miles from Keswick.  The ideal location for a restful holiday or exploring the many walking routes straight from the door, including two Wainwright walks, the Newlands Horseshoe and Coledale Round.  Alternatively the area can be easily explored by cycle or car.

Originally a working corn mill, parts of the property have been recently converted into two 3 bedroomed self catering cottages, each sleeping 6 and retaining many original features.  Mill Cottage and The Parrock offer high quality, characterful and comfortable accommodation with well equipped kitchens, comfortable lounges and good sized double bedrooms.

The extensive gardens are there for all to enjoy and attract a wide variety of wildlife, including red squirrels who regularly come to the feeders.  Opsreys visit the nearby Whinlatter Forest. Pets are most welcome to stay by prior arrangement.

Location

On A66 west past Keswick until you reach signpost on left for Grange and Newlands Valley. Turn left through Portinscale and follow signs to Stair. In Stair go past the Newlands Adventure Centre, continue over a bridge and Stair Mill is the last house on the right with a millstone by the gate.
