Five star luxury dog friendly holiday cottages, your home from home in the heart of the Northern Lakes

Rowling End and the Mouse House offer you exceptional comfort, warmth and style for your holiday in one of the Lake District’ most beautiful and tranquil valleys. Newlands Valley has changed little since it inspired Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth and Alfred Wainwright. Wainwright described Newlands as Arcadia, “an idyllic place of flowers and trees, of emerald pastures and sequestered farmsteads, all cosily sheltered by rough mountains”.

We pride ourselves on doing everything possible to help you enjoy your stay with us. Whether you are planning a short break or a longer holiday we want you to be sure that you’ll be as happy to stay in as you will be to spend your days out walking and exploring the Northern Lakes. With red squirrels feeding outside the kitchen window as well as a wide variety of native birds, Rowling End is an ideal place for nature lovers.
