Limhus Cottage

Limhus Cottage is a modern newly refurbished bungalow on the outskirts of Keswick.  A small shop and bus stops are two minutes away, and it’s a flat half-mile walk to the town centre.  There is easy access to the fells, or you can view them from the secluded patio.  The large garden is shared with the resident owners and their two friendly Mountain Rescue search dogs.  However, we prefer no pets in the cottage.  The bedroom has twin single beds which can be joined to make a superking bed, and a travel cot is also available (but no cot bedding).  The large bathroom has a bath plus a walk-in shower.  The kitchen is equipped with electric double oven, four burner gas hob, fridge-freezer and microwave, with crockery and cutlery for four so you can invite local friends for a meal.  The lounge/diner is comfortably furnished with seating for four, from which you have superb mountain views.  Gas central heating plus a gas fire in the lounge ensures you are never chilly.   Colour TV (32”), DVD player, CD player and radio are provided.  There is a washing machine, clothes airer and rotary dryer.  A large car port between the bungalow and the owners’ house provides secure covered storage for outdoor gear, prams etc.  There is private parking for one vehicle. 

Bookings are from Friday to Friday, although shorter visits are also possible.

Location

From the M6: From junction 40 take the A66 to Keswick.  After 17 miles, turn left at the roundabout.  At the T-junction, thrn right.  Limhus Cottage is about 200m on the right.

Approaching from the south on the A591 (avoiding the town centre): After entering the 30 zone, follow signs to A66.  Turn left onto A66.  After about half a mile, turn left at the roundabout, then follow direction above.

Public transport: train to Penrith, bus from railway station to Keswick.  High Hill Garge bus stop is opposite Limhus Cottage.
