Welcome to Irton House Farm

For taking a calm, relaxing break in the North Lakes, Irton House Farm offers a choice of five disabled accessible holiday cottages which sit around a central courtyard. For the Motorhome and Caravan users we have five mature Caravan Club pitches and four general pitches – all with amazing views. Finally we have a four berth static caravan, Lake View, set in its own amazing plot but with the same great vistas.

The Cottages
The cottages have been carefully designed to provide easy access and comfort for all our guests including any with disability such as wheelchair users.  All our cottages have been furnished throughout to a high specification, and have been specifically designed to provide easy access for all guests, including those with reduced mobility. All the cottages are easily accessible with parking immediately outside the front entrance and all benefit from customer controlled central heating which allows guests to maintain a comfortable temperature at no additional cost. WiFi is now available in all cottages.

Irton House Farm has a selection of five cottages, all which have a unique character and, most importantly, all have been updated with those less mobile in mind. Having taken guidance from our customers we have kitchens that have wheel-under sinks and hobs, bathrooms that have lowered vanities and mirrors as well as wheel-over shower decks or shower chairs. Even the bedrooms have been adapted with such things as low hanging wardrobe space and wheel under dressing tables.

All the cottages offer:

  • Convenient parking outside cottage
  • Easy access for wheelchair users
  • One or more ground-floor bedrooms
  • Wheel-under kitchen sink and hob
  • Widened doors and hallways
  • Customer controlled oil-fired central heating
  • Peace and quiet
  • Free use of games room
  • Working farm location
  • See Spring lambs – in Spring, naturally!
  • Stunning Views
  • Rural yet only 20 mins from Keswick or Cockermouth
