Highbridge Cottages

The two four-star terraced cottages are located right by the village stream in a quiet location, and offer a high level of comfort, with gas central heating, hot water from solar panels, and all modern facilities. The smaller cottage, which sleeps 4/5 in two bedrooms, has an open log fire. The larger cottage, which sleeps 6 in three bedrooms, has an upstairs sitting room offering outstanding views, and a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Parking, heating, and linen are all included. Dogs are very welcome - and usually have a marvellous time.

We have been awarded the top Gold award by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, and encourage our guests to live sustainably when in the cottages. For example, guests arriving by public transport receive a 10% discount. We are also members of the Nurture Lakeland charity and help to sponsor their “Help the Ospreys” project.

Location

Braithwaite, the village where the two self-catering holiday cottages are located, is a walker's paradise in the northern Lake District. Nestling at the foot of the Whinlatter pass, it acts as a gateway to the whole of the north-western chain of Lakeland fells. Forget your car for the whole week! The village also has three excellent pubs, two of which welcome dogs, and two shops.
