Delightful cottage, peacefully situated in a quiet lane on the banks of the River Greta, with views towards Latrigg and Skiddaw, but only three minutes walk from the town centre. It is only yards from a footbridge over the river into Fitz Park, and within a few hundred yards of the Leisure Pool.

High Skydes is well furnished and fully equipped, with central heating and double glazing. It has a charming living room, a modern kitchen and spacious bathroom. There are two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed, the other two single beds. Bedding is provided. The living room also has a bed settee for occasional use.

There is parking for two cars at the side of the cottage. The living room overlooks a pretty, landscaped garden with lawn and picnic bench. The door from the kitchen leads to an enclosed patio garden with paving and shrubs.

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but the cottage is non-smoking.

Other visitors have said: 'Lovely cottage. Peaceful but right there.', 'The best cottage we've stayed in in the Lakes', 'Wonderful holiday- the cottage had everything we needed and more', 'Cottage wonderful- ideally located and very comfortable, equipped with everything we needed.'

We see the cottage as our second home, rather than being purely a commercial enterprise, and have tried to make it a home-from-home for our visitors too.

Location

Turn into Stanger Street, next to the Book Shop and follow to the very end. Turn right into the unmade lane and High Skydes is the second house on the right, overlooking the river.
