Keswick Tourism Association Charter

Former home of the Lake Poets, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey, Greta Hall offers beautiful self catering and Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the heart of Keswick.

If you’re looking for somewhere very special for friends and family to gather and create special memories together we hope that you give us the opportunity to prove that Greta Hall is that special place. However be warned, the house has a habit of conspiring to turn a weeks holiday into a event that keeps bringing families and friends back to stay year after year, after year!

Spread over three floors there is plenty of space for everyone: socialable space, quiet rooms, beautiful bedrooms aand bathrooms, open fires and sofas with stunning views to re-charge, a large kicthen for lots of cooks and a wonderfil dining room for long leisurely meals together, a child-friendly garden and our own woodland with a long section of river with fishing and paddling rights

Our accommodation in brief:

Greta Hall sleeps up to 20 in 10 bedrooms and comprises of The Southey Wing (sleeps up to 14 in 6 doubles and a twin) and The Coleridge Wing (sleeps 6 in 2 doubles and a twin), these wings can be rented separately.

With a dining room that seats up to 22, two living rooms, huge library, chidren's playroom, stunning bathrooms with walk-in rainfall showers and an amazing family kitchen, an enormous garden with woodland and the River Greta for paddling, we believe we the best place to stay in Keswick.

If you need a little more space, the g/f The Wash House Sleeps 2.

Location

Sited on a little hill covering an acre of garden and woodland near the Pencil Museum, Greta Hall has amazing views over the top of town to Catbells, Grisdale pike and Walla Crag - our views at the back are to Latrigg and Skiddaw. A footbridge just a few metres from our back gate takes you into Fitz Park, we are a couple of minutes walk into the centre of town, just ten minutes walk to Derwentwater and the ‘Jaws of Borrowdale’. Greta Hall truly has something for everyone.
