Fountain Cottage

Situated by the River Greta, with views of the fells, Fountain Cottage is a quarter of a mile level walking distance from the centre of Keswick.

Named after a drinking fountain erected in 1879 in the wall opposite, Fountain Cottage provides ample accomodation for families, friends or couples requiring the luxury of extra space. It is an ideal base for sampling the delights of the Lake District.

This cosy double glazed cottage benefits from having three large bedrooms, one with a double bed; a family room containing both a double and a single bed; and, at the top of the house, a twin bedded room with panoramic views over the surrounding fells.

The spacious fitted kitchen is well-equipped with the full range of appliances including a washer-dryer, a refrigerator and a freezer.

The downstairs is comfortably furnished and has been floored in local slate throughout, complemented with rugs. There is a flatscreen digital DVD television and CD music centre in the lounge, and a separate dining area.

The full-sized bathroom has been refurbished to a high standard, and contains a shower over the bath.

Environmental improvements have included reroofing over high spec insulation and installation of the latest design combination boiler. Together these measures ensure comfort throughout the year and instant hot water.

Central heating and hot water, together with clean fresh bed linen are provided free to guests.

At the rear of the property there is secure off-road parking.

A cot and high chair can be supplied if required.

We accept a single adult dog subject to complying with our conditions.

Reductions are made for smaller parties and short breaks are accepted out of season subject to availability.

Location

From the motorway J40, take the A66 Keswick. Take the second Keswick exit, after the dual carriageway over the river, leaving at Crosthwaite roundabout.
Carry on to the bottom of Crosthwaite road and meet High Hill. Turn left and take a right turn after only about 50 yards alongside Lakeland View, continuing round to the right, and through a gate to private parking at the rear of the cottage.
