Enjoy our spectacular views of Derwentwater, Borrowdale and the north-western fells, Skiddaw and Latrigg. Four carefully prepared properties all peacefully located in Applethwaite village, which nestles at the foot of Skiddaw, just over one mile from Keswick but in a rural setting.

Croftside ( a cottage for 4 ) and Croft Corner (a ground floor apartment for 2) are both at Croft House - a handsome Victorian country house set on the edge of the village and surrounded by fields. Many guests return each year for the comfort, tranquil location and magnificent views.

Upper House and Lower House (for 6 and 4) have outstanding views down to Derwentwater. They from a larger property called Lords Seat - see the entry for Lords Seat on this website for more photos or our own website www.crofthouselakes.co.uk  Both have a coal burning stove.

All four properties have wifi, offer fell walks from the door, short breaks and are open all year. There are three restaurants in walking distance and all the facilities of Keswick nearby.
 

Location

From A66 roundabout on the northern edge of Keswick take A591 signed to Carlisle. After 0.5 mile turn right into a lane which has a signpost saying “Applethwaite and Skiddaw”. Croft House is in front of you on the bend in the lane. Penrith is the nearest train station with a bus service or taxi to Keswick.
