Attractively converted and furnished as part of a secluded homestead in a unique position midway beneath Cockermouth and Crummock Water, the farmhouse makes a marvellous holiday base. Visit the Whinlatter Forest Park with miles of trails, walk the western fells, tour the coast and valleys and enjoy fine meals at the local pub.

NOTE RE WI-FI:   Please be aware that given the rural location, there is only limited free Wi-Fi available, with a bandwidth suitable for light use only (e.g. emails and internet browsing). Regrettably, the remote wif-fi access cannot accommodate guests requiring high speed internet access (e.g. for streaming, downlowding large files, extended use, etc).  Public internet access facilities are available in the nearby locations of Cockermouth and Keswick.  Kindly take this into consideration prior to booking.

Directions from the North or South

Leave M6 at junction 40 (Penrith)
Take A66 signposted Keswick and Workington
After the large roundabout at Keswick (17 miles), bypass Keswick and after around 2 miles turn left signposted to Lorton B5292
This will take you over the Whinlatter Pass
Coming down into Lorton turn left signposted to Buttermere (this is the next left after the road which says unsuitable for vehicles)
After 100 yards turn left again, signposted Buttermere and Loweswater and go through High Lorton for around 3/4's of a mile, sweeping around to the west.
At a minor crossroads go straight on signposted Low Lorton 1/4 mile Loweswater and Buttermere. After another 100yards go across the B5299, right and then left with a signpost to Rogerscale and Thackthwaite (there will be a high stone wall on the right) until you reach Lorton bridge
Over the bridge bear right towards Rogerscale
Take the immediate left (marked not suitable for vehicles)
Follow this track for half a mile up the steep hill
Take the first left over a cattle grid
The driveway is marked The Brow
