Big White House

This detached house is located in the village of Greengill and is 5 minutes from the market town of Cockermouth. The house has good access to the northern Lake District areas like Lorton, Keswick and Buttermere.

The House can accommodate up to 24 people in 11 bedrooms and is an excellent venue for parties, social gatherings and family reunions.

The house is on the fringe of the Lake District national park and has excellent views over the Solway to Scotland.

The Big White House has 11 bedrooms: 2x Double, 5x Twin, 2x Bunk, 1x Family (Double & Single) and 1x Bunk w/ Single Bedrooms (many with their own toilet and wash basin). The bedrooms are spread across the two floors. The house also has 3 separate newly renovated bath/shower rooms.

The Big White House also has a home cinema room with 50" digital plasma television with Blu-Ray and DVD home cinema system. Free Wi-Fi access is also available within the house.

The ground floor has a huge dining room with table and seating for 24, pool table room, well-equipped kitchen and utility room with commercial washer and dryer, drying room for wet walking clothes plus lounge area. The first floor has 2 additional lounges.

The house sits in an acre of private grounds where there is secure storage for bikes and canoes as well as plenty of parking. The grounds have picnic tables and a BBQ for you to use. A summerhouse is located close to the BBQ area and has fantastic views over the Solway to Scotland.

Lying just outside the boundary of the Lake District National Park, Cockermouth is an attractive market town not overwhelmed by the tourist atmosphere of Keswick and Ambleside. Cockermouth is near to some of the more peaceful lakes and mountains.

Location

• From the South: Exit the M6 at J40 (A66) towards Cockermouth and Workington.
• From the North: Exit the M6 at Carlisle and follow the A595 signed "West" in the city.
• From the A66: Take the A595 (Carlisle) at the roundabout to the west of Cockermouth.
• At the next roundabout take the A594 (Maryport) look out for a Right turn to Tallentire. (this is a dangerous turn on the crest of a small rise)
• Follow the road all the way through the village of Tallentire (watch out for one way system in village) leave the village and continue until you come to the junction.
• Take the second turning right into the Big White House, parking is to the rear.
