With 3 spacious bedrooms this property offers very high quality accommodation from only 2 to a maximum of 6 persons . ( sorry no pets )    Downstairs there is a large open plan lounge with 36 " LCD TV and DVD player, additional dining area and a cosy open log fire (Initial starter pack provided), also gas central heating throughout . There are games,maps  and books for all ages to keep entertained .

NO pokey kitchen in this cottage , there is plenty of room in the beautiful fully fitted and modern cream kitchen with traditional lakeland slate flooring, for you to enjoy cooking and dine for all.  Equipped with Microwave, washing machine and dishwasher  Seperate downstairs wc and washbasin.

Barn House cottage has spectacular views, overlooking the Skiddaw Mountain range and also towards Blencathra mountain range , being in this ideal position in the centre of the village it is therefore an excellent base for walkers, the famous Coledale Horseshoe( Causey pike,Craghill Grisedale Pike plus many more), Newlands valley(Catbells, Maiden Moor, High Spy& Robinson) or the gentler Whinlatter Forest walks all start right from the doorstep.

If youa re not a walker you can take a drive over Whinlatter Pass and view the Osprey on the large screen in the visitor centre, then carry on and take in stunning scenery on a circular drive around the lakes, past Crummock water, Buttermere and over the very steep Honistor pass, and pick up some lakeland slate from the mining shop.

Jenny provides a welcome tray with Tea/ coffee & Homemade cake for your arrival. there is  Private parking for 2 small cars and also plenty of  nearby street parking.

Location

From the M6 motorway: Take Junction 40 (Penrith) and head on the A66 towards Keswick and West Cumbria. Continue past Keswick on the A66 following signs for Cockermouth approx 3 miles you will see signs for Braithwaite village and Whinlatter on the left Turn left from the A66 into the village, and follow the road until you see the Royal Oak on your left. Turn left immediately before the Royal Oak and follow the driveway to Barn House which is in front of you. There is Private Parking infront of the property for two cars.
