Barn Cottage

Barn cottage  was created from a lakeland barn retaining beams & flagged floors. There are two bedrooms,one double and one twin bedded plus one bathroom. Downstairs you have an entrance hall and a large open plan sitting room with kitchen and dining area. A woodburning stove makes this  a very cosy room.

The village stream flows nearby where ducks and hens roam. A small welcome basket of home made bread, our free range eggs and preserves awaits you. We provide all your bed linen, towels, logs and electric.

Bassenthwaite nestles at the foot of Skiddaw which is a good days hike from the cottage. Keswick  is  7ml away, has an excellent theatre with a good programme. The Osprey nests nearby with a viewing point in Dodd wood 3 ml away with tearoom, Whinlatter 7 ml away has a Go Ape course. excellent mountain biking, walking trails and cafe.

A 5 minute walk from the cottage takes you to our  allotment where you can sit and take in the view of Skiddaw with our hens for company.

We live next door and let 2 room b&b if you prefered your breakfast cooked for you.

Location

We are approx 6 miles North of Keswick on the A591 . The village is half  a mile from the main

road and is signposted to the right after the St Johns Parish Church. We are located in a quiet

corner of the village near the stream.
