Thornthwaite Grange

Just 5 minutes from the bustling market town of Keswick, Thornthwaite Grange guest house provides a relaxed, informal base for your holiday in the Northern Lake District.  We offer bed & breakfast accommodation in an historic country house adjoining Whinlatter Forest and with stunning views of Skiddaw.

Our spacious and light bedrooms have luxurious en-suite bath or shower rooms. We offer a delicious breakfast menu of traditional favourites made with locally sourced produce.

Our guests are invited to make full use of our beautiful garden and summer house. For the energetic, we can help plan your fell walks, mountain biking and kayaking trips. Bird watching sites, including the ospreys at Bassenthwaite, are close by.

Thornthwaite is a quiet and peaceful village with no traffic noise even though it is just 1 mile from the A66 so very accessible. Most evenings we can provide a return taxi service to and from Keswick.

Location

From Keswick, take the A66 in the direction of Workington. Pass turning to Portinscale and then take the 3rd turning left signed THORNTHWAITE VILLAGE 1 MILE. Stay on this road. Thornthwaite Grange is 1 mile down on the left (200 yards past a phone box and bus sheler).
